Addiction is a problem behaviour or an obsessive yet damanging attachment or habit to a particular object, behaviour, activity, or substance. If not controlled, it can often lead t162402226 (2)o impact negatviely on a person’s mental health, relationships, physical healh, employment and recreational acitvites.

The most common type of addictions tend to be those such as alcohol, smoking and internet addicitons. However, addictions can vary widely and people can often form addictions to other things such as salt, mobiles, chocolate, social netowrking and many other issues such as the ones listed below:.

 Some of the symptoms of having an addiction include:

  • Dependancy
  • Impacts on your normal/daily life and distracts you from your responsibilities, family etc,
  • Can often ‘take over’ your other emotions
  • Can be difficult to control
  • Can often be negative or destructive.

How can Hypnotherapy for Addictions help?

Addictions are nothing more than learnt negative patterns of behaviour which lead to the problem behaviour or addiction. The key with using hypnotherapy is to unlearn this negative pattern of behaviour  and to teach it more useful healthier patterns of behavour. This will lead to an eventual reduction or cessation of the additiction/problem behaviour.Various other therapeutic techniques may also be used.
